Speaking further, he urged the fresh students to make the best use of the golden opportunity presented by their admission into Crescent University, Abeokuta. Emphasising on the needs to be conscious of their parents’ and guardians’ expectations as well as the enormous sacrifices they (parents) are making to see them (students) through the University.
The VC iterated that it was the outstanding performance of the university accreditation exercises of Nigeria University Commission (NUC) that made some of the matriculants choose Crescent University.
He further implored the matriculants to shun all manner of antisocial behaviours and embrace academic excellence and moral discipline.
“Each of you should aspire to have distinctions in your courses right from 100 level, because for University education, the higher you go, the tougher it is”
“Say no to cultism and drug abuse, as they are avenue for self destruction and it could send you away from the institution”, the VC advised.
Also speaking at the event was His Majesty, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye Towulade of Akiale Kingdom, Ogun State.
The monarch noted that the University remains a rated institution as he recounted his time as a student of the University a few years back.
