CUAB Bread, the locally produced bread brand of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has continued to gain popularity among students and staff due to its affordability, freshness and quality.
Produced within the university community, the bread has become a common choice for breakfast. Students say its availability on campus makes it a convenient option, especially during busy academic periods.
Speaking with Campus News, Olatoyese Phyinfoluwa, a 300-level Mass Communication student, described the bread as both affordable and satisfying.
“CUAB Bread is always fresh, and I can easily get it without leaving campus. It saves time and money,” he said.
Another student, Salau Al-Ameen, noted that the bread compares favourably with several commercial brands sold outside the university.
According to members of staff familiar with the bakery’s operations, the initiative was established to provide quality bakery products while supporting practical learning and entrepreneurship within the university community.
The growing demand for CUAB Bread has encouraged the bakery to maintain consistent production to meet the needs of students, staff, and visitors.
Some students have also suggested introducing more varieties, such as whole wheat and fruit bread, to further increase the product’s appeal.
As Crescent University continues to promote innovation and self-reliance, CUAB Bread remains one of the institution’s notable home-grown products, reflecting its commitment to quality service and community development.
