Ogun commences work on 250-bed specialist hospital

Construction work had commenced on the proposed 250 -bed state of the art Specialist Hospital being undertaken by Ogun State Government.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun who made this disclosure while presenting the 2019 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly expressed optimism that when completed, the hospital would “ provide world class health services and reverse medical tourism in Ogun state and Nigeria.”

The Governor boasted that his administration in the last seven years had recorded landmark achievements in the health sector better than any of his predecessor achievements according to the Governor include a steady reduction in incidences of maternal and infant mortality while malaria , a major public health disease had also been tackled headlong.

His words” The survey led by UNICEF and released in 2017 showed that maternal Gov Amosun at the presentation of the 2019 appropriation bill mortality and under five maternity is 3.2 times and 2 better than the national average respectively in our state.
“We are very proud to be able to say that Ogun state has been Polio free in close to a decade with the last new case reported in 2009.”the Governor stated.

On the control of malaria in the state, Amosun said his government distributed 2.6 million Long Lasting Insecticide Nets (LLIN) in 2014 and additional 3.3 million in April, 2018 .
