The Gamji Fest is a big event in Crescent University which takes place every second semester. This event brings the Hausa people in the school together to celebrate culture, heritage, and traditions. People from other tribes and cultures are also allowed to attend if they’re interested, which creates a lot of unity for the youth of the school.
The organizers of this event go through a lot in a good way to make sure we all come together and enjoy this event. To bring the rich culture to life, they have students play the roles of the Sarki (the King), his wives, and his royal guards, known as the dogarai.

There are so many interesting activities that happen during the event, like matchmaking and traditional dancing. There were also majestic horses dressed in stunning traditional costumes, accompanied by beautiful traditional music and delicious cultural food.
The students of the school were not the only ones in attendance. Important personalities from the university were also invited to grace us with their presence. They gave a few words of importance and also presented awards to outstanding students who were nominated and voted for.
The organizers of this event did a very good job! It is such an interesting event that students are already looking forward to the next editions to see the improvements.
