CRESCENT UNIVERSITY, ABEOKUTA

The recent increase in school fees at Crescent University, Abeokuta, has left many students asking one simple question: What exactly has improved?

For many students, the answer is not much. They say the learning environment looks the same, while some of the problems they face every day are still there.

Students complain that the hostels are not properly maintained. They also say there is little or no running water in the toilets and room wash basins, making daily life on campus stressful.

No student enjoys paying more, but many understand that fee increases can happen. What they find difficult to accept is paying higher fees without seeing better facilities or improved welfare.

Students believe that before increasing school fees, the university should have focused on fixing these basic issues. They say better living conditions and a more comfortable learning environment should come first.

As conversations continue across campus, students are hoping the university management will explain the reason for the increase and take visible steps to improve the school environment. For many, it is not just about the extra money—it is about seeing real value for what they pay.
